Born
in Yokohama, Japan, Satoshi Nagasaki started playing guitar at age
11. His influences were Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, and Van Halen. He
started paying in a local band at age 13.
Satoshi spent a year studying music at Musicians Institute in Hollywood,
California and after graduation in 1993 started working as a guitar
instructor at two music schools in Japan. He also hosted Purple
Express, a Japan-wide radio program.
Satoshi worked together with Japanese guitar legend Shigeru Narumo with whom
he conducted numerous guitar clinics at music stores across Japan.
He also worked as Hamer and Ovation USA endorsee. For three
years Satoshi free-lanced for Shinko Music, a Japanese guitar magazine
writing articles, transcriptions and interviewing other musicians.
He has published over 20 guitar instructional books and CDs
in his home country.
Satoshi's guitar style was featured on the Spotlight page of the July
1996 issue of the Guitar Player magazine. For all of 1997
Satoshi toured Canada as a lead guitar player for Broken Rule,
a Montreal-based pop/hard rock band.
In 98 to 2002, Satoshi played and recorded with many musicians in
Toronto and the United States such as The Belle Jars (Punk
Rock,) Geoff Mcpeek (Sony Recording Artist), Jessica Ehrenworth
(Pop rock recording Artist), Fried Zuccini (Top 40),
Gord X (Blues), Janet Vodka (Rock Band from NYC),
Super chick (Top 40 female band), Johnny Alternative,
Hot for Teacher (Van Halen Tribute) and The Honey Brown
(Soul/Funk), e. t. c....
